If you think you have to shop around to get the best supermarket deals, think again. I'm going to tell you how you can shop at one supermarket but still get the lowest price possible. I'm not going to lie, it does take a little effort and careful list writing. The time it takes to plan your shop carefully is surely better than driving across town to Asda (in my case) instead of popping to your nearest supermarket to get that great deal they have on coke (I like coke) or whatever it may be that week.
OK, this week I'm going to talk about Sainsbury's Brand Match and how you can make it work to your advantage. Sainsbury's is the closest supermarket to my house so often I use this trick when I don't want to pay non offer prices.
Please note these offers and prices may not be correct at this time, please do your own checks and lists before you shop! I cannot take any responsibility for things going wrong! If you make a mistake or something doesn't work out how you planned just return the items straight away at customer services.
The basic rules are:
*Minimum spend of £20
*Maximum of 10 of one item (barcode)
*Branded products only (you can add Sainsburys own brand to the shop but it won't compare against other own brand products.)
*You will get a maximum of £10 back at the till.
*Only compares to Tesco and Asda
*In store only
*The voucher you get back has to be spent in Sainsbury's within two weeks.

I use http://www.mysupermarket.co.uk/landingpages/getacoupon.aspx?campaign=getacoupon&UserPromoCode=GV-NXGEJKFDDR to compile my lists but you should double check prices on Asda and Tesco's own website to be absolutley sure you have the correct price.
OK, create a My Supermarket account and select Sainsbury's as your store on the left hand side. If you are doing a normal weeks shopping you will need two separate lists, maybe more. I use My Supermarket for the list of items that are cheaper in Asda and Tesco and just a good old fashioned notepad for the rest.
My list this week
Bread
Milk
Coffee
Cat food
Sausages
Cheese
Coke
So if you click on this item in My supermarket you will get a pop up like this (above). If you buy 2 it will be the same price as Asda, but if you only buy one you will get the difference back of 45p. Click to add to basket.
The milk is on offer in Asda for 2 at £3, add two your basket and you will get back 96p. Are you with me so far?
The coffee is cheaper in Asda too....add it to your basket!
This cat food is £1.65 cheaper in Asda! Add it to your basket! You will get the difference back.
Next on the list are sausages, as own brand don't count towards brand match it doesn't matter if you add it to this shop or the other shop. I usually put two baskets in my trolley to keep things separate. Are you still with me? I know this is long but bear with me.
Next up is my cheese, this is actually cheaper in Sainsbury's, DO NOT add it to your basket, this will be your second shop. Make this your second list, keep it separate when you shop and pay separately at the till.
Again this coke is cheaper in Sainsbury's, this is added to my second shop.
If you now click on view basket on the top right of the screen you will have your list ready to print. Click on options, then print basket. It will give you an option to print Sainsbury's V's Asda. This will tell you how much to expect back at the till. In this case £4.05. Cheaper than driving to Asda in my case!! Do this shop first at the till, get your £4.05 coupon back with your receipt, THEN use that coupon as money off your second shop.
Bingo, you've won in the battle of the supermarkets.
Please do comment if you think I need to explain anything in more detail. Also let me know which supermarket you'd like me to discuss next! Happy shopping!
*The link to My Supermarket is a referral link, you get a discount on your first online shop and I get one too!
